02 / Leadership in practice

Coaching for independence.

Real workplace experience · colleague support, not formal management.

  1. 01

    Challenge

A colleague regularly needed help finding updated pricing information.

  2. 02

    Action

I showed her how to access the latest rate cards herself and explained why keeping up to date mattered.

  3. 03

    Outcome

She became more independent in finding the information she needed.

Leadership principle

“I aim to build capability, not dependency.”

My approach to leadership is to understand the problem, support the people involved, explain the process, and help build the capability to handle similar challenges independently.

My personal approach to problem-solving

  1. 01

    Diagnose

Understand the problem and who it affects.

  2. 02

    Analyse

Review information, trends, and potential causes.

  3. 03

    Act

Identify practical improvements and support execution.

  4. 04

    Evaluate

Review outcomes and determine the next action.

Customer Experience Improvement

A concept for mapping the customer journey and finding friction points worth fixing.

  1. Map each stage: enquiry, consultation, purchase, follow-up.
  2. Gather customer and colleague feedback at each stage.
  3. Prioritise the friction points with the biggest impact.
  4. Test small changes and review what improved.

Documents are illustrative portfolio work, not client engagements or verified business results. Dashboards use fictional sample data. Coaching for Independence describes real colleague support, not formal management.

05 / Career direction

Where I Can Add Value.

I bring a combination of frontline commercial experience, operational awareness, analytical thinking, and a coaching mindset. I'm interested in opportunities where I can help teams perform more consistently, improve customer experience, use performance information effectively, and strengthen business processes.

People

Knowledge sharing, coaching, team support, and capability development.

Performance

KPI monitoring, commercial awareness, reporting, and practical analysis.

Execution

Process consistency, operational coordination, and continuous improvement.

Interested in sales leadership, commercial operations, customer experience, retail operations, and selected management-track opportunities.

Sri Lankan roots. A competitive mindset.

I grew up in Sri Lanka at Lyceum International School. Engineering studies took me through Australia and Canada; door-to-door sales, outbound calling and self-generated leads built my commercial foundation. Workshops with Bell, Rogers and Nikon added to that learning.

  • Badminton: 4 school team titles, including 2 finals won 3–0. Sunday Times, 2015 ↗
  • Valorant: semi-pro · Immortal 2 · duelist & in-game leader.
  • CS:GO: Global Elite.

My ambition: pass North American sales standards on to Sri Lanka's teams.
